I get gray or black spots, where I wear the bracelet or ring. What would be the reason that gold jewelry leaves a black mark on his skin? Best answer as to what the reason that gold jewelry leaves a black mark on your skin? be
response from David C.
No offense, but you get the marks, because you have cheap gold jewelery. Ask a jeweler, he will tell you the same thing. Keep up with 12k gold and you will not be the problem.

yeah its because its like plastic or something underneath rubbing off
Impurities in the metal react with your skin. Try different kind of gold, white gold, or silver.
its not real gold
some people are allergic to gold or so ive heard. or maybe you need to buy a higher carat of gold. it could possibly need to be cleaned professionally.good luck with your gold jewelry. might want to switch to platinum(expensive) white gold or sterling silver.
its sounds like it just has a gold finish…cheap metal underneath.
This could be the result of two things:
1) Either your jewelry is not made of genuine gold.
2) Or you might be allergic to gold. Many peoples have an allergy with gold.

The gold in your jewelry is probably just fine! If you wear a lot of make up that could cause the dark gray marks. The ingredients in make up can be abrasive and cause a sand paper effect with the gold jewelry. You won’t feel the sand paper effect but it will leave you with that gray mark. People often touch their face and the make up transfers to the hands and then to whatever else you may touch. That could be why you see the marks with your rings and bracelets.
It is probably gold plated not gold
